Myriam Claeys

Responsible for the transmission electron microscopy facility of the Nematology Research Unit led by prof. W. Bert, Department of Biology, Ghent University. Since 2017 the TEM-unit is member of the UGent TEM expertise center, life sciences. We offer support on a fee-for-service basis.

I routinely embed biological samples in either Spurr's epoxy resin (morphology) and LR White acrylic resin (immunocytochemistry). Fixation approaches include chemical as well as SPRF- (self-pressurized rapid freezing) fixation. Other sample processing approaches are possible on demand.
